warm up

1. What emotions did you feel as you worked your way through these images?
I felt very sad when i was looking at these photos.

2. The photographer said this: "These photographs do not define us, but they are us." What do you think about this comment now that you have looked at the photos?

whatever you see always doesn't mean whats actually happening.

3. Do you think you could shoot photos like this if you were in this situation?

no i could not because i would get to emotional and cry and ruin the pictures.

4. If you could write Angelo a letter, what would you say to him

First of all I would say how sorry I am for his loss. I would ask him how hard it was taking these pictures.

Africa

1. I was very surprised by how he actually got the distance closed from him and the animal. I really like the dedication he has to get these pictures. Just for one picture he waited 18 days. Now that some commitment. I really feel like he got his point across by telling the the story of just that animal he was photographing. I really like had he out the pictures in black and white, it makes the picture more dramatic but not to dramatic.

3. This is my favorite because i really love anything monkey gorilla related. Most people portray monkeys and gorillas as violent and rough. In this picture the gorilla looks beautiful and peaceful. The gorilla looking off into the distance makes this picture more dramatic and pleasings. the picture is a gorilla standing a on a rock looking off into the distance. The gorilla is standing in-front of bunch of plants.

4. There are a few rules present in this wonderful picture.one of them is balance. Balance is where everything is equal and it doesn't feel or look lopsided. Another rule in this photo is simplicity. The simplicity in this picture is how the back ground is just the same green (im guessing) plant. There's also not much going on in the picture just the gorilla staring off into the distance.

5. Nick Brandt uses a 120mm and a Cannon

6. Nick's reasoning for taking these photos is that e felt moved when he went traveled and saw the landscapes and the many different animals .Nick also wanted to do something different than everyone else. Nick wasn't really interested in the action packed photographs.

7. Nick's hope for taking these photos are for people to remember his picture of the animals of East Africa. I also think he wanted you to memorized with the natural beauty of East Africa.

8. "When people in Africa are poor and starving and there are no crops left to eat due to the deforestation and global warming leading to ever-worsening droughts, they cannot be blamed if they kill the last zebra walking through the bush for their family to eat."

Black and White photographers pt 3

1.) What first caught your eye while looking at your photographers photos? Is there something in particular about their photos that made you want to choose them? Post the images with your writing.
The first Thing that caught my attention were how simplistic and dramatic his photos were. He try to capture them and what they are know for. I was also drawn to his photographs because he took portraits of famous people. My photographer is yousuf karsh

I see Audrey Hepburn looking down with a side profile, wearing a dark colored turtle neck.
I smell the purfume Audrey Hepburn is wearing
I hear the click of the camera taking the picture
I taste the sweat dripping down from my forehead onto my lips
I feel the buttons on my camera resisting my finger

I see Nelson Mandela giving me a soft smile.
I smell Nelson Mandela's freshly cleaned suit
I hear justice
I taste my cologne drifting into my mouth
I feel honored to have the opportunity to take picture of Nelson Mandela

3.) Finally, what would you like to create to show the world your great photographer. Ideas include, posters, power points, a blog, etc. You tell me what you would like to create so we can come up with a plan to share your thoughts and ideas about your photographer with your classmates and with the rest of the school.
I would just want to display all his pictures in a mural. Along with his mural we can had captions about his picture taking session with the person.

mural project

1. What theme, that we could take here at school, could we do a series of these panels to place around the school ?

I think we could do unity because our school is very put together because of the black red an dust our school colors in general. you can always take different angles and approaches to make things look put together and stuff like that.

2. Should we use phones only, or should we open it up to our regular cameras for those people that don't have camera phones?

I think that we should be open to be using phone camera and normal cameras. the regular camera and the phone camera can be just as good as the other. It all deeds on how you use it and it you use it properly and creatively.

3. Where would you want to put the mural on campus?

I would out a mural either by the fine arts hall way or somewhere outside in the courtyard. I would put the mural near those two places cause I feel like most people are always in those two places.
